Robert Hill Hold Me Again Lyrics

Film this: You've orchestrated the perfect at-habitation date for your meaning other, featuring candles, vino, and a lovingly home-cooked (or lovingly ordered via app) dinner. Just just as your person texts you that they're on their way, yous realize that you have no thought what sort of music to play to retain the romantic ambience. After all, you can't have your early 2000s guilty pleasance songs come up on shuffle while yous're trying to stare lovingly into your partner's eyes (aught ruins the mood like the distinctive "youuuuuu" at the beginning of "Soulja Male child." And yep, that instance is based on a truthful story).

Anyway, I've got you covered with my list of the most beautiful, hopeful, and achingly romantic songs always written (in my humble opinion). You'll have your trounce/partner/Bumble date swooning.

"ROS" - Mac Miller

Near romantic lyrics: "I'm in your eye, I'k in your dream/ So fuck the world it's yous and me"

Rationale: When the exterior world becomes brutal, many couples turn inward and develop that us-against-the-globe mindset. In "ROS," Mac Miller captures what information technology'due south like to feel close to someone, spending much of this song describing the piddling things he loves about his partner, like her "stained glass" eyes, butterscotch-scented skin, and kiwi-flavored lips. The lyrics are intimate in every way, and Mac delivers them with his characteristic rawness.

"These Artillery of Mine" - Otis Redding

Virtually romantic lyrics: "These arms of mine, they are lonely/ Lonely and feeling blueish/ These arms of mine, they are yearning/ Yearning from wanting yous"

Rationale: This song hits me right in the chest. It'southward impossible non to feel your arms and chest aching like Reddings' when he sings near called-for to hold his lover. The music crescendos around his smooth voice every bit he begs,  "And if you would let them hold you/ Oh, how grateful I would be." It's such a sweet, hostage plea for love, and its focus on physicality is pretty sexy, as well.

"Ex Cistron" - Lauryn Hill

Most romantic lyrics: "Come across, no one loves you more than than me/ and no one always volition"

Rationale: No one knows how to obliterate me emotionally quite like Lauryn Hill does. In "Ex Cistron" (and on this whole album, let's be real), she's vulnerable, baring all her devotion to her beau. We recognize straightaway that her relationship is toxic, but Colina'due south honesty is so beautiful that nosotros humble listeners have no choice but to sit down, transfixed, and listen.

"Skinny Beloved" - Bon Iver

Most romantic lyrics: "Told my love to wreck it all/ Cut out all the ropes and let me fall"

Rationale: When this song came out in 2007, I was in heart school. I could not end singing it as I traipsed through my firm, near-tears as I crooned nearly "the sink of claret and crushed veneer," as though my twelve years on earth had been rife with tragic beloved affairs.

Nevertheless, this song yet holds up. Bon Iver is a main at depicting what it'south similar to fully surrender yourself to someone while aware that they may hurt you in the end. I still sing this song while I lounge effectually my niggling studio apartment, drawing on existent-life experiences this fourth dimension, though I assure you that none of them involved claret-filled sinks or crushed veneers.

"Leather and Lace" - Stevie Nicks & Don Henley

Most romantic lyrics: "Lovers forever, confront to face/ My city, your mountains/ Stay with me, stay/ I need you to honey me/ I need yous today/ Requite me to me your leather, have from me my lace"

Rationale: This is Stevie Nicks' lyricism at its about poignant. She wrote "Leather and Lace" herself and so performed it with Don Henley (of The Eagles) while they were dating. This duet is beautiful in and of itself, but their chemical science and passion for each other makes it all the more impactful. An ex played this for me once, unprompted, and I recollect thinking, My God, dude. Why would you practise this to me?

Wrecked.

The Mode You Wait Tonight" - Frank Sinatra

Most romantic lyrics: "Lovely, never, never change/ proceed that breathless charm/ won't you please arrange it?/ 'Crusade I love you/ Only the manner you look this night"

Rationale: Ah, aye. The song that plays at every wedding ceremony on earth. Popular songs are popular for a reason, though, and this one endures because of the accepting, unconditional sort of dear that information technology depicts. In addition to Sinatra's version, I'thou too partial to Fred Astaire's rendition in the 1936 film Swing Time and the sweet withal tongue-in-cheek visuals proceed with it.

"Everlasting Lite" - The Blackness Keys

Most romantic lyrics: "Allow me be your everlasting low-cal/ Your railroad train going abroad from hurting/ Love is the coal that makes this train roll/ Permit me be your everlasting light"

Rationale: If you read the lyrics without the music, the whole song sounds kind of like a late nineteenth century poem. The love in this vocal is so pure and hopeful, and you'll definitely gain absurd-points by playing The Blackness Keys on a first date.

"To Know Him Is To Dear Him" - Amy Winehouse

Most romantic lyrics: "To know, know, know him/ Is to love, honey, love him/ Just to come across that smile/ Makes my life worthwhile"

Rationale: No i does unbridled love like Amy Winehouse. Her soulful vocalism takes center stage in this Phil Spector cover, and if y'all're non already in love, information technology will make you lot want to be.

"Like Real People Do" - Hozier

Most romantic lyrics: "I will not ask y'all where you came from/ I volition not ask y'all, neither should you lot/ Honey, just put your sweet lips on my lips/ Nosotros should just kiss similar real people practice"

Rationale: Here, Hozier is trying to convince his love interest to forget that they both take pasts (who doesn't?) and to just love him. At that place'southward a sense that both people in the song consider themselves odd in some fashion (once again, who doesn't?), and that they've been searching for partners like each other for ages. "Like Real People Practice" reminds us of how miraculous it feels to beloved and be loved back.

"Can't Have My Eyes Off You" - Franki Valli & The Iv Seasons

Most romantic lyrics: "You're simply too skillful to exist truthful/ Tin can't take my eyes off of you lot/ Y'all'd be like heaven to bear on/ I wanna hold you so much"

Rationale: To quote every Boomer from my abode state of New Jersey: They simply don't brand 'em similar this anymore. And it's true―this song manages to balance emotional and sexual yearning without existence crude.

And merely... the gratitude Valli feels when he sings about loving his daughter then much that he thanks God he'due south live. My Lord. They really just exercise not make 'em quite like this anymore.

"Forrest Gump" - Frank Bounding main

Most romantic lyrics: "My fingertips and my lips/ They fire from the cigarettes/ Forrest Gump, you run my mind, boy/ Running on my heed, boy"

Rationale: This is Frank Sea's near criminally underrated song and I will fight anyone who has anything negative to say about it. In fact, I once made a very loud, spirited defense of this vocal when I was in loftier schoolhouse, right after Ocean'south ill-received functioning of it at the 2013 Grammys.

The song is told from the perspective of Jenny in the 1994 motion-picture show Forrest Gump. It's nigh a cleaved, tired person coming back to their pure, enduring love after a peachy bargain of fourth dimension has passed. It's especially meaningful, in my stance, because Sea penned the song in the wake of his very public coming-out.

"Take Me The Fashion I Am" - Ingrid Michaelson

Nearly romantic lyrics: "'Crusade I dearest you more than than I could ever promise/ And you lot accept me the way I am"

Rationale: What a throwback! Ingrid Michaelson was responsible for some of the sweetest manic-pixie-dream-girl love songs of the early 2000s, and this one was her most popular. Michaelson rejoices in having establish a partner who loves her, flaws and all, and she responds in kind, promising to repair what her partner breaks and buy him Rogaine when his hair starts falling out. It'due south a promise to dear someone forever.

"I'm Not Dead" - P!nk

Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "Right across the cigarette and the devilish smile/Yous're my fissure of sunlight/ You tin can do the math a g ways/ But you tin't erase the facts/ That others come and others go/ Only you ever come back"

Rationale: This is my favorite era of P!nk'southward music. In "I'm Not Dead," she writes a frank, unapologetic dear song almost being a flawed human deeply in beloved with some other flawed human being. Waxing poetic about her and her boyfriend'south (her future hubby, Cary Hart, by the way) tattoos and alluding to her own mental illness, P!nk eschews all tired clichés virtually love in favor of something far more authentic and affecting.

"Hannah Hunt" - Vampire Weekend

Most romantic lyrics: "A man of organized religion said subconscious eyes could see what I was thinkin'/ I just smiled and told him/ That was only truthful of Hannah"

Rationale: Oh, Ezra Koenig, how yous wound me with your beautiful words! In this song, our narrator seems to be moving around the U.S. with his dearest Hannah until she grows homesick for the east declension. Having lived in New England for around seven years, I'm fractional to this vocal for its "freezing beaches" references, but it's also a gentle tribute to the style time glides away when you lot're with someone yous love.

"A Vocal For You" - Donny Hathaway

Nigh romantic lyrics: "I dear you lot in a place/ Where there'southward no space or time/ I dearest you for my life/ You're a friend of mine/ And when my life is over/ Remember when we were together"

Rationale: There have been many versions of this song, merely this 1'southward my favorite. It was besides Amy Winehouse'southward favorite. Donny Hathaway sings this with such feeling that one tin can't help but feel he's reciting a memoir when he sings his apology to a woman he neglected to settle down with considering he was too busy performing effectually the world.

"Maps" - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Most romantic lyrics: "Don't stray/ My kind'southward your kind/ I'll stay the same."

Rationale: Aye, this vocal is 90 percentage simply Karen O singing "Wait, they don't love yous like I dear y'all," but it's so powerful! If you say something the correct way, and the accompanying music is good enough, in that location's no need to embellish much more. Proof: Beyoncé clearly nods to this song in her 2016 single "Concur Upward." "Maps" endures, over a decade later, across genres.

"If I Ain't Got You" - Alicia Keys

About romantic lyrics: "Some people desire diamond rings/ Some just want everything/ But everything ways nothing/ If I ain't got you"

Rationale: This vocal is all the more touching when you recall that she wrote information technology merely every bit she was beginning to go famous. She promises that her renown―the fruit of all her labor―forth with promises of riches, jewelry, or endless life would all mean nothing if she didn't have her man.

"Pine Tree Lines" - Told Camber

Near romantic lines: "I am the girl my parents fabricated/ Why don't you lot love me anyway/ 'Crusade I love the way y'all take up infinite"

Rationale: Devastating genius. Lead singer Felix Walworth delivers this song so earnestly that his vocalisation literally cracks during that concluding line. I've never heard a simpler or more startlingly accurate depiction of adoration than loving the way someone takes up space.

"Inevitable" - Shakira

Nearly romantic lyrics: "To be even more honest/ No ane thinks virtually you/ The manner I do" (Translated from Spanish)

Rationale: Shakira spends most of this vocal laying out all her imperfections―that she doesn't know how to make java, that she doesn't understand soccer, that she oversleeps, etc.―and then proceeds to enquire her man to love her anyhow.

"I Found You lot" - Alabama Shakes

Nearly romantic lyrics: "I retrieve all them lonely days/ I traveled out on my ain/ Then yous brought me everything/ You made my house a home"

Rationale: This is a commemoration of finally finding your person. And then who better to listen to it with than your person? Romantic, indeed.

"Rag Doll" - Franki Valli & The Four Seasons

Well-nigh romantic lines: "I'd alter her sad rags/ Into glad rags if I could/ My folks won't let me/ 'Crusade they say that she's no practiced."

Rationale: Another Four Seasons song, yep. I'1000 from Jersey. Sue me.

Franki Valli declares his unconditional love for a girl much poorer than he is, fantasizing about replacing her tattered clothes with lace and finery. In spite of her poverty, he ends the song by crying, "I dearest you lot only the way you are."

He wants to give everything to someone who tin can offer him nothing material. All he wants is her.

"Since I've Been Loving You lot" - Led Zeppelin

Most romantic lyrics: "Just baby, since I've been loving yous, yeah/ I'm about to lose my worried mind/ Oh, yeah"

Rationale: Homo, these lyrics look and then underwhelming when written down sans musical accompaniment. Information technology'southward tragic.

What makes this vocal so romantic, to me, is the organ and bass work by John Paul Jones pair with Robert Institute's searing vocals. It'southward a ability blues song that hits you right in the gut. If desperate want were a sound, this would exist it.

"Yous Got Me" - Erykah Badu and The Roots

About romantic lines: "If you don't worry 'bout where/ I been or who I saw  or/ What society I went to with my homies/ Baby, don't worry, you know that y'all got me"

Rationale: I cried when I saw this live. Erykah reassures her young man during the chorus that she'll always be loyal to him, while Black Thought (lead MC of The Roots) uses his verses to tell the story of a lifelong romance. It'south the all-time dear song in hip hop, hands down.

"(Yous Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman - Aretha Franklin

Near romantic lyrics: "When my soul was in the lost and found/ You came along to claim information technology/ I didn't know simply what was wrong with me/ 'Til your kiss helped me name it"

Rationale: Nosotros should heal ourselves rather than wait around for someone to heal usa, but that doesn't mean that dearest can't be a healing feel. Information technology's actually romantic to give thanks someone for making y'all experience good, and that's precisely what this vocal (written past the flawless Carole King) is about.

"Jade" - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Most romantic lyrics: "Nosotros can't help merely follow, she'southward Buddha, just sentry her/ She moves like an erstwhile gypsy adult female just swears she's a daughter/ And all that she asks we'll let her/ For Jade is the daughter of the hour"

Rationale: Alex Ebert wrote this vocal for Jade Castrinos when they were both still dating and still the frontpeople of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The song is a quiet dearest letter to Castrinos―y'all could imagine Ebert singing it to her at dark by the bivouac while the rest of the ring is asleep (that's this band's vibe, really). It's a shame that we no longer get to watch the sweetness relationship between these talented musicians, just at least we'll always have this hippie love vocal.

"Wild Horses" - The Rolling Stones

Most romantic lyrics: "Graceless lady/ You know who I am/ You know I tin't let you lot/ Slide through my hands/ Wild horses/ Couldn't drag me away"

Rationale: One of the wildest bands of the '60s and '70s too happened to write one of the nigh poignant songs about beloved and devotion. This is about a long, deep intimacy between 2 people, and of existence physically unable to resist the person y'all adore.

"Jim Bogart" - The Front Bottoms

About romantic lyrics: "I would sleep better on your floor/ Than I would ever in my bed/ And if your carpet makes my face itch/ It'd still be heaven in my head"

Rationale: "Jim Bogart" opens with the higher up lyrics, sung with lead singer Brian Sella'southward signature raw vocals. He abandons all pride in his love for this daughter, promising to practice his guitar every night, to sleep on her flooring without complaint, and to to ignore his dr.'s advice―all to win her love. We shouldn't have to debase ourselves for love (*rolls eyes* yeah, yeah yeah), but this is fine art. And if we're being honest, this sentiment is relatable for anyone who's prayed for their love to be reciprocated.

"Loving You" - Elvis Presley

Nigh romantic lyrics: "If I'm seen with someone new/ Don't exist blue, don't you be blue/ I'll be true-blue, I'll be true/ E'er true, truthful to yous"

Rationale: Elvis tells his dear non to become jealous or to believe the hype effectually him and other women, reassuring her that she's the one for him. Although multiple sources have claimed that Elvis did, indeed, cheat on his wife, Priscilla, this remains his sweetest dear song.

"Melissa" - The Allman Brothers Band

Nigh romantic lyrics: "Knowing many, loving none/ Bearin' sorrow, havin' fun/ Merely back home he'll always run/ To sweet Melissa"

Rationale: Here, the Allman Brothers sing about a traveling musician who can't become over his sweetheart no thing how many other women he meets. She e'er ends upwards resurfacing in his mind, and eventually, he e'er returns to her.

"My Old Man" - Joni Mitchell

Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "He's my sunshine in the forenoon/ He's my fireworks at the cease of the 24-hour interval/ He's the warmest chord I ever caput/ Play that warm chord, play and stay, baby"

Rationale: Mitchell's soaring mezzo-soprano meanders through a portrait of her relationship in this song, insisting throughout that, "We don't need no piece of newspaper from the city hall." She's saying that she doesn't need external validation of the relationship―this human gives her all she needs to feel secure in their bond.

"Devil In a New Apparel" - Kanye West, Rick Ross

Near romantic lyrics: "Put your easily to the constellations/ The fashion you look should exist a sin, you my sensation"

Rationale: Kanye West is a pretty polarizing effigy, merely this is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Information technology's a bittersweet tribute to his infamous relationship with Amber Rose, and this song encapsulates the often-sexy, ever-complicated connexion betwixt two people who aren't expert for each other, yet can't stay away from one another.

"Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop)" - Erykah Badu, Common

Nigh romantic lyrics: "But that is all backside me/ 'Cause at present at that place is no other/ My love is his and his is mine/ A friend became the/ Dearest of my life"

Rationale: Conventional advice tells us to fall in love with someone who can be our  friend, also. This song is about two lifelong best friends who find their way back to each other after fourth dimension spent apart. With her famously beguiling voice, Erykah Badu captures the joy of being truly known by 1's partner.

"A Lord's day Kind of Love" - Etta James

Most romantic lyrics: "I want a Dominicus kind of love/ A love to last by Sat nighttime/ I want to know it's more than than love at starting time sight"

Rationale: We've all been at this signal before. If Etta James were to have written this song today, she would have been explaining that she was ill of i-night-stands and Tinder/Bumble/Hinge dates that go nowhere. She'd be saying she was tired of sweaty strangers in confined shouting into her ear, over deafening music, request if she wants to take a shot.

Instead, she'd want something substantial. Someone to relax and binge Schitt'due south Creek reruns with on the weekends.

May nosotros all notice that Sunday kind love.

"Baby I'grand Yours" - Arctic Monkeys

Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "Baby, I'chiliad yours/ And I'll be yours until the stars autumn from the sky/ Yours until the rivers all run dry/ In other words, until I die"

Rationale: This vocal sounds similar it was written in the '50s or '60s. In some ways, it's your run-of-the-manufacturing plant tiresome song, merely at that place's something charming almost the Arctic Monkeys being the ones to perform this retro pledge of devotion.

"She Will Exist Loved" - Maroon v

Most romantic lyrics:"I don't mind spendin' everyday / Out on your corner in the pourin' rain"

Rationale:I remember listening to this song in middle school, wishing that the boy I had a shell on would dearest me enough to stand up exterior my window in the rain. In retrospect, that would take been awkward and inconvenient to explain to my mother, and these days I would probably find such behavior creepy (when I'thousand in my pajamas in my flat, peacefully eating Takis and watching The Sopranos, the concluding affair I need is a man standing outside, watching me from the street like something out of The Exorcist), just the sentiment of this song still stands.

"Considering the Night" - Patti Smith

Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "Come on, now, try and sympathize/ The mode I feel when I'm in your hands/ Take my manus, come cloak-and-dagger/ They tin't hurt you at present"

Rationale: In this vocal, which was originally written by lyrical fable Bruce Springsteen, Smith promises her lover that he's safe with her. If yous've read Smith's volume Merely Kids, you'll probably listen to this vocal and think of her and Robert Mapplethorpe singing and dancing to it down the streets of lower Manhattan.

"La Vie En Rose" - Edith Piaf

Near romantic lyrics: "When he holds me in his arms/ And he speaks to me softly/ I see the world through rose-colored glasses" (Translated from French)

Rationale: You definitely know this song. It's the go-to for every romantic scene in every American movie about France. And, granted, it'southward a bang-up choice for a dinner date, especially if you want to get a lilliputian slow dancing started.

"Someday" - The Growlers

Nigh romantic lyrics: "But stay for one more night/ One twenty-four hours y'all're gonna be my married woman/ You'll never have to worry again/ I'm gonna exist your homo"

Rationale: It sounds pb vocalist Brooks Nielsen's at present-wife was getting really sick of his bullshit, and that he wrote this song as a plea to go her to say. It's poetic, energetic, and hopeful, and it would have worked on me, too, tbh.

"Wouldn't It Be Nice" - The Embankment Boys

Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "Wouldn't it exist nice if we were older?/ Then we wouldn't accept to wait so long"

Rationale: This is sung from the perspective of someone who's already certain about who he wants to spend the rest of his life with. And he'south wishing that the rest of his life could start correct now.

"Stay" - Rihanna, Mikky Ekko

Nearly romantic lyrics: "Not actually certain how to feel about information technology/ Somethin' in the way yous motility/ Makes me feel like I can't live without y'all"

Rationale: Love isn't a formula. There's no real logic to why nosotros fall in love with some people but non others, and Rihanna hits the nail on the head when she says it's simply "something in the mode [he] movement[s]." It'south reminiscent of The Beatles' song "Something." Speaking of which...

"Something" - The Beatles

Most romantic lyrics: "Something in the way she moves / Attracts me like no other lover / Something in the way she woos me / I don't want to exit her now"

Rationale:This song is a slow, dreamy ode on an otherwise bluesy album. George Harrison was the Beatle who penned it, writing that he wasn't sure what exactly triggered his love or whether it would grow.  All he knew was that the love was there, and that that should be enough.

"Androgynous" - The Replacements

Most romantic lyrics: "And they love each other so/ Androgynous/ Closer than we know, honey each other so/ Androgynous"

Rationale: This song is about 2 non-binary people falling in love, which is pretty absurd for a vocal from 1984. Our main characters, archetypically named Dick and Jane, honey each other regardless of gender. The Replacements make a compelling statement about why traditional gender roles and clothing should make no difference if you're truly in love with someone.

"I'll Exist Seeing You lot" - Billie Holiday

Most romantic lyrics: "I'll notice you in the morning lord's day/ In every lovely summer's twenty-four hours/ In everything that'southward correct and gay/ I'll e'er call back of you lot"

Rationale: You know when you're freshly in love (or heartbroken), and everything reminds you of that person? That's what this vocal is well-nigh. Everything around Vacation―the natural world, a park, a buffet, a carousel―is a fond reminder of her dearest.

"Sunday Candy" - Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment

Most romantic lyrics: "You lot've got to move it slowly/ Have information technology in my body like information technology's holy/ I've been waiting for you for the whole week/ I've been praying for you, you're my Sunday candy"

Rationale: The Social Experiment is the hip hop commonage that boasts members such as Run a risk the Rapper and Vic Mensa (the sometime of which is featured heavily on this song). Jamila Wood performs the chorus to this song and then sweetly that it'south easy to forget the sexual implications, and she and Chance tell the story of a couple that spends a week at a time missing each other, absorbed in thoughts of one some other until they're finally reunited.

"Come Equally You Are" - Nirvana

Most romantic lyrics: "Come up as y'all are/ As you were/ Equally I desire yous to be"

Rationale: In that location are many interpretations of what this song means, ranging from mental health to friendship to commentary on inauthenticity. But, to me, "Come up Every bit You Are" works equally the ultimate grunge love vocal; equally a promise to dear and capeesh someone but the way they are.

"Please, Delight, Please" - James Brown

Most romantic lyrics: "Babe please, baby please, please me/ Baby please, babe delight don't go/ Don't go, I said infant, don't infant/ I love you lot so"

Rationale: This song is almost entirely comprised of James Brown repeating "please," and, supposedly, he got a lot of flack from his producers about that before its release. Simply, like the Yeah Yep Yeahs' "Maps," this track's magic lies in the passion with which it'south delivered–and James Brown is cipher if not passionate.

"I Will Ever Dear Yous" - Dolly Parton

Most romantic lyrics: "And I hope life volition treat y'all kind/ And I hope that you accept all/ That you lot ever dreamed of/ Oh, I practise wish you lot joy/ And I wish you happiness/ But above all this/ I wish y'all dearest"

Rationale: Without a doubt, you're familiar with Whitney Houston's rendition of "I Will Always Love You," but I honey Dolly Parton'due south soft-spoken, land version besides. Where Houston belts, Parton croons, making this a great alternative for when you want to hear this song on a placidity evening in.

 "Songbird" - Fleetwood Mac

Most romantic lyrics: "And I wish y'all all the love in the globe/ But nearly of all, I wish it from myself/ And the songbirds go on singing/ Similar they know the score"

Rationale: Fleetwood Mac's members were notorious for hooking upwardly within their ranks, and Christine McVie (author and main vocalist on this song) was no exception. This is a unique honey song, considering it does unconditional love different whatever other: It illustrates how it'southward entirely possible to love someone and want the best for them while accepting, albeit sadly, that you might not exist that all-time matter.

"First Twenty-four hour period of My Life" - Bright Eyes

Most romantic lyrics: "Simply I realized I need you lot/ And I wondered if I could come home"

Rationale: This Brilliant Eyes rail makes me wish I was amend at playing guitar. Frontman Conor Oberst makes a frank plea for his beloved, telling her, "I'm glad I didn't die before I met yous," and asking for permission to approach. It's an practise in startling honesty, and the upshot, like the whole album, is profound.

"Sea of Love" - Cat Power

Virtually romantic lyrics: "Come up with me, my love/ To the sea, the sea of love/ I wanna tell you/ How much I dearest you "

Rationale: Originally, the last song on this list was going to be T.I.'due south "Whatever You Like" because I'm determined that information technology will play at my wedding i day (I'yard not kidding), but "Body of water of Love" is too romantic to pass up. With minimal instrumentation, Cat Power delivers a brief but heartfelt love letter whose genius lies in its profound simplicity. 10/10.
